Q: How do enzymes improve the solvent performance?
A: Enzymes replace some of the surfactants to break down the ink into smaller molecules, once they have done that, they do it again and again and again, they are not used up. Surfactants work once then they are used up. By breaking down the ink into smaller particles it improves the waste water process as well.
Q: Why do you call it breakthrough technology?
A: Our special blends of solvents are designed to give similar parameters to an aggressive but dangerous and very hazardous solvent that can’t be used in cleaning anilox rolls or printing plates because it would damage equipment and people. The solvents we used are safe and biodegradable. It is a new technology that is currently being introduced to the paint industry. As far as we know, never used before for the cleaning industry. Breakthrough technology!

Q: How does Super BioClean 5G differ from Super Special Blade Clean 3G?
A: We have reduced the surfactant levels in 5G and replaced some of them with enzymes so the product doesn’t foam as much in the waste water and in our process so we can apply all the 5G in one hit for maximum contact time as contact time allows the enzymes to do their work. We still have surfactants for cleaning and to allow us to hold so many raw materials in solution.
Q: What are the savings when using Super BioClean 5G?
A: Performance improvement of the product means all the same benefits already marketed with 3G but to a greater level:
- Once the anilox rolls are clean and as long as operators always use the system correctly, you can run 5G at 1:60 for further savings.
- Better performance of the product gives better productivity.
- The ink is broken down into base components and we also have enzymes that break down the starch in the waste water to the base molecules so you have less solids in the waste water, this saves money and gives cleaner waste water.
- Better running converter with less breakdowns and increased production makes happier operators, also having the foam guns handy they can clean their equipment increasing their pride in their equipment as they usually mainly work the same converter.
Q: Why is your product better than the one we presently use?
A: Our company specialises in this one area. Our experience is decades working with cardboard plants around the world. Cleanprint’s 3G and 5G products are safe, non-corrosive, highly effective and producing huge cost savings with our automatic dosing/cleaning systems.
Q: How does your automatic system work?
A: From anywhere in your factory where there is water, a dosing device pre-dilutes cleaning solutions of either 3G or 5G and is piped to each machine. At each machine we have the Cleanprint foaming gun (no air required) for cleaning of printing plates and all external areas. The solution is also run to a manifold that delivers to the ink line to clean everywhere that ink goes. A PLC controlled wash cycle, of 1 minute rinse, 1 minute solution, 2 minute rinse, all by the push of a button.
Q: Where have you got this system working?
A: Our first successful trial (go to case study) Was with Orora Fibrepackaging, we are now installed in most of their plants around Australia . Visyboard has also installed in all their Victorian, S.A, W.A sites, installation to one of their N.S.W sites has commenced and one of their Qld sites will install soon. Both OJI plants are happily using our product and system so this represents more than 80% of the Australian market.
Q: Is it safe?
A: Super Special Blade Clean is completely non-hazardous, non-corrosive and as we automatically dispense it, no personal handling of the product occurs anyway.
Q: How does Cleanprint afford to supply and install the equipment?
A: We cost the installation into the product for a pay back of around 3 years, therefore we enter into a 3 plus 3 year supply agreement with fixed costings that are a lower cost to use than our competitors.
Q: How do you quantify the savings
A: Savings can be measured in a number of different ways based on typical industry activities.
It has been our experience that time pressures do not typically allow operators to have the Anilox Rollers at the optimal level of cleanliness during regular operation.
If the rollers are being cleaned manually then there is a high probability there will be variations in clean quality.
Clean Print automates the level of chemical dispersed and reduces the cleaning time whilst also ensuring the rollers are far cleaner than they usually are when using a traditional manual cleaning process.
Cleaner rollers result in fewer breakdowns because the cleaner the roller the less pressure is needed to make a clear imprint on the cardboard.
A cleaner roller uses less ink so there is less material wastage either by the print being out of registration or boxes being damaged through excess pressure on the press.
Equipment failure and downtime is reduced dramatically because the entire system is consistently cleaner.
Our experience is that our systems are saving operators up to an hour a day in downtime – converted directly into machine uptime !
